Beginners

WE  LOVE  BEGINNERS 🙂
(Most People Are)

Have you always wanted to be able to play music? Have you been dreaming about playing a particular instrument, but just never got around to it? Don’t be left behind like everyone who says they wish they had…

Get going now, and you will feel great playing the music you love as a fun, positive part of your life.

Schedule your music lessons now!

The Benefits of Starting Right Now

• Learn to play your favorite songs in a relaxed, enjoyable and supportive environment
• Gain confidence
• Enjoy playing music with friends/family
• Form a band!

Our goal at Newport Guitar and Music is that you will learn to play your instrument well and for you to feel confident and at ease. If you already have an instrument, we will check to see that it is right for your age and size, and the type of music you want to play. It may be fine or just take a little adjustment. If you don’t have one, we carry a wide variety of quality instruments and accessories at great prices and we will gladly demonstrate what each body style does best. Purchasing an instrument is an important step that should also be fun!

In your very first lesson you will learn how to strum and play whole songs with chords!

As you move forward, we will focus your lessons toward your own musical goals and interests. You’ll also learn all of the parts of your instrument, the names of the strings, and how to tune. A few things we cover:

• A history of the guitar
• Proper technique for smooth and quick playing
• Reading tablature, reading music-both notes and chords
• Music theory, notation and symbols and how it pertains to the guitar, bass, or ukulele and the keyboard
• How to use your equipment to get the sounds you want
